Today was catch up

Today was catch up on sleep day. I find when I have a big day the next day I really need to catch up on my sleep. Feeling better now not so coldy

This is my one of my favourite photos of me when I was a kid I got to wear the landlady's daugther watch I felt so grown up and I was about 3 or 4 at the time. As you can see.

Tonight I had fun doing the gazette I do for the Red Hat chapters I belong to. Got both of them done and sent early. So I am feeling really good about it.

The Anniversary Day

This my Mum with a lovely pussycat I never knew what it's name was
We had a busy day. We both went to my hairdresser Gloria and I got my hair cut and Gloria who is a message therapist as well gave Klaus a neck and arm massage on his very sore arm. I liked my hair and Klaus felt better after the massage. I fixed lunch and I went to my glass drop in and started on my Asian swap. After that we had a nap and when DD came home we went to the Pickle Barrel in Markham and had a great meal. It was to big so DD has lunch for tomorrow. I did too much. I had wanted to go to Home Sense with her but was to tired. I hope we can go tomorrow. So got no scanning done for the pictures.

Our Wedding

This is me 38 years ago just before we picked up my girlfriend Janet who served as my Matron of Honour. The day was nice a bright and sunny and warm for late March. I wore a shift type dress that had lovely beading around the neck. It had a matching spring coat it was a damask. It was so pretty I wore a white straw hat and that had lovely velvet ribbons. We had my sister Beth my brother Ian and mum and dad. Dad drove. We got married at Old City Hall

Klaus s brother Werner was his best man. I did want a big wedding dress since we were having a civil ceremony. It seemed to take forever to get up Bay Street. The Ceremony was to take place at 1:30 p.m. We started up the street and just got there in time. We all met and went in when it was our turn. It doesn t take long and we did the signing and pose for a couple of picture be for we headed off to the photographers back in Scarborough. Kaye and Werner had to take care of some business at city hall.

Janet mum me Klaus Beth behind Klaus and Beth are Kaye and Werner.
Afterword got in Klaus s car a married couple....I couldn t stop smiling all day and night. The reception was a blur now but we all had a great time and we left the reception and went to Klaus s place that was now our place. We didn leave for our honeymoon until the next day. We had strawberries and champagne for breakfast. We visited my family and off to Florida eventually right down to Key West. It was a wonderful trip. That we repeated for our 25th anniversary our second honeymoon. We had planned an informal reception but people kept wanting the reception line speeches and all that. So I relied on Kaye my new SIL here at the end of the table to coach us on what to do next.

Klaus and I cut the cake. What a wonderful day.

Here are a couple of our pets

We had a Scottie and his name was Hamish. This is me and Hamish trying to teeter totter. He was such a great doggie. Mum bought him for Dad for their Anniversary but I was in charge of feeding him. So I always thought of him as my dog. He died on Domion day the day before my 21st birthday. He was a fine pet but no champion except of hearts.

My Sisters had rabbit really beautiful white ones. This is me and Biggy. He was one happening bunny. My other sister rabbit was Baby and acted like his name. They had very different personalities and if left out together would fight like mad. So they always had a run around the yard each by themselves. This is Biggie in all his glory as you can see. These guys were around for 1o years and were quite the handful.

A New Start at blogging

This is a photo of my mum and I at six weeks

I had a blog on 360 Yahoo and they shut it down so I have started a new one here. I am trying to scan most of the family pics to put on CD to give to each member of the family. It will be fun to sort everything out and have them all in one place. I just finished doing the above collage of my early years to act as a header for this blog. I tried a few years ago to start the project I am now doing. I guess it was too close to my mum and dad passing away.

.

This is me and Grandma Stirling at about a year.

I was born in England in a smallish city at the time Crowborough.

It was at the height of WW II and mum and I travel up to Scotland to stay with her in Edinburgh. Dad had just been shipped out to Sicily. He was a Remie. A mechanic fixing motorcycles and other motorized vehicles. Mum and dad met because mum had a leftover Christmas card and her friend said why don't you send it to my friend's friend Gord his mum just died and he is now an orphan. So she did and the rest is Our Story.
